7-ways-eating-too-fast-affects-your-weight.png

There’s nothing better than scarfing down a plate a food, especially when you’ve been eating clean but eating too fast affects weight loss goals significantly. In fact, some even say the faster you eat the more weight you gain. So, slow it down ladies and gentlemen. Here’s 7 ways how eating too fast affects your weight.

You’re taking in too many calories before you’re full

It takes approximately 20 minutes for your brain to send messages that your stomach is full. So, eating too fast affects weight because you consume a significantly larger number of calories before you actually feel full. In fact, you consume 20-minutes’ worth of calories you didn’t need to feel satisfied.

Eating too fast is linked to obesity

You better believe it, eating too fast affects weight so much that it can lead to obesity. When you regularly scarf down your food, you’re regularly getting way more calories than you need. As a result, eating too fast has been linked to being a huge risk factor for becoming overweight and obese.

You’re increasing your risk of insulin resistance

Your health as a whole plays a vital role in your weight. It’s easy to assume that your heart, lungs, and bladder have nothing to do with eating or your weight, but they do. When you eat too fast, you’re raising your risk of insulin resistance which results in high blood sugar and insulin levels. The next step is type 2 diabetes or metabolic syndrome which will only further your weight gain.

You risk getting type 2 diabetes when you eat too fast

Speaking of type 2 diabetes, people who eat fast have a higher risk of developing this serious disease. Studies have shown that people who eat fast are actually 2.5 times more likely to get diabetes compares to people who eat slowly.

Poor digestion slows down your weight loss

The faster you eat, the worse your digestive tract is going to work. Fast eaters commonly complain of poor digestion issues. So, slow down your bites and you’ll also feel better after each meal while helping you reach your weight loss goals.

You risk developing metabolic syndrome

Metabolic syndrome is basically a bucket full of all the diseases you don’t want to develop, but that are likely to develop if you keep eating fast. These include diabetes, heart disease, and several other serious diseases

You don’t receive the satiety hormones

It’s been shown that the quicker you eat, the fewer satiety hormones get released. As a result, you don’t feel satisfied post meals and you’ll want to eat more.

It’s a no brainer – the worse you feel, the harder it is to lose weight. When you eat quickly, you risk developing these serious medical conditions and illnesses which will only push your weight loss goals further away. You won’t feel well enough to get up and work out, or to cook a healthy meal.

So, slow it down. Take smaller bites and get in the habit of taking a couple of breaths in between each. Add Shakeology into your diet and forbid bad eating habits from deterring your weight loss goals.

The world is so used to high-calorie, processed foods that low calorie diets mean eating like a rabbit. However, low calorie diets are much more achievable than you think – and you can certainly eat way more than lettuce and carrots. You just have to break away from unhealthy, modern day foods and your calorie count will quickly decrease. So, stop eating and gaining, and start eating and losing.  It’s all about zero calorie foods that will keep you full and satisfied without increasing your calorie intake.

What are Zero Calorie Foods?

Despite what the name reads, zero calorie foods aren’t food items that have zero calories. You aren’t eating air, folks. Instead, zero calories foods are items that burn more calories than they contain. So, let’s find out what you can eat to decrease your calorie intake without decreasing your satisfaction.

Zero calorie foods, low calorie diet, low calorie foods

If everyone loved working out, there wouldn’t be an obesity epidemic. The reality is, working out sucks for the majority of people – to put it bluntly. Working up a sweat, pumping weights until you’re in pain, and feeling body aches for days after simply doesn’t sound like a good time. In fact, it’s a pain in your arse. So, most people don’t exercise as much as they should – if at all.

Fortunately, you can learn how to fall in love with exercise. Okay, maybe you won’t fall in love with it like all the fitness gurus on Instagram, but it can be more enjoyable – and I’ve got the secrets.

how to enjoy working out, how to fall in love with exercise, motivation to workout

Look forward to when it’s a habit

People say it takes three weeks for something to become a habit, but after a week of regular exercise, it’ll become much easier to complete each day. This is important when trying to learn how to enjoy working out because as soon as it becomes a habit, exercise will come to you like second nature. You will no longer drag your arse to do it; you just will. So, look forward to that moment when working out becomes habitual. Every day, you’re one day closer to exercise being a part of your life and that’s when you’ll stop wondering how to fall in love with exercise because it’ll happen naturally.

However, it isn’t just enough to have motivation to workout. You have to remember your motivation at times of weakness. Print photos of your goals and write your motivation to workout on sticky notes. Place them around your house in the areas you frequent, and you’ll feel more inspired to get moving.

If you’re not busting out squats, there’s a problem with your exercise regime. Squats are one of the most powerful workout movements you can do that does more way than what you may think. That’s why almost every online fitness program you’ll come across incorporates some kind of squat into the mixture. Whether it’s a dancing exercise, kick boxing exercise or even a yoga exercise, you will always find a squat movement. So, let’s find out why and what squats can do for your body.

squats, exercise movement, benefits of squats, squat benefits, beachbody, online fitness program

Squats build muscle beyond your booty

There’s a common misconception that squats are just for your glutes but the benefits far extend beyond your backside – no pun intended. However, squats build muscle throughout your entire body from your glutes to your quadriceps, calves, hamstrings, and many other muscles. It doesn’t end there. Squats also tone and tighten your abs and core, making it one of the best multi-purpose exercise movements.

Squats build muscle better

Squats are so powerful, they release human growth hormones and testosterone which trigger muscle growth. So, this exercise movement will also improve your muscle mass when you’re strengthening other areas of your body.

Squats are a functional exercise

The term ‘functional exercise’ is used to describe exercise movements that help your body while performing real-life activities. For example, squats help you lift heavy objects. However, there are many other situations where you squat and may not even realize it, such as cleaning the house and gardening. So, be aware at all times to ensure you squat properly to maximize your results and gain mobility, balance, and muscle.

For every pound of muscle you gain, your body burns an extra 50-70 calories per day.

Squats burn off fat faster

One of the most popular benefits of squats is that the movement burns more fat faster than other exercise movements. Since your legs have such large muscles, your body works overtime to repair them after each workout. As such, it eats up all those calories, resulting in less turning into fat storage.

Squats decrease risk of serious disease and illness

When you do the squat exercise movement, you’re (obviously) building more muscles. But what’s important is that these muscles are key to regulation your glucose, insulin, and metabolism. As a result, squats can help you protect against serious disease and illnesses, such as cardiovascular disease, obesity, and diabetes.

Squats increase and maintain mobility and balance

With the prior mentioned, it only makes sense to explain that squats don’t only increase mobility and balance, but also maintain them as well. This is a huge benefit as you get older because strong legs are the key to mobility. As an added bonus, having stronger muscles, connective tissues, and ligaments help to prevent injuries.

Squats help keep you regular

…And we aren’t talking about the Squatty Potty that makes you squat to go to the bathroom. Instead, we’re talking about waste removal in general. Squats help move along your body fluids, which improves the process of transferring nutrients to vital organs and removing toxins and waste from your body. As a result, you have more regular bowel movements and far less indigestion problems.

The benefits of squats are beyond what most people believe and once you commit to dropping down low with your knees above your ankles, you’ll be amazed at you results. So, if there’s any exercise movement you should be doing on the daily, it’s squats and you can find them in almost all online fitness programs.

It’s an ideal program for anyone who wants a bigger booty, who gets bored at the gym or who simply hates working out. This is a dance workout that is designed with movements that target your three butt muscles; gluteus minimum, gluteus medius, gluteus maximus.

2. Squats, Squats, Squats

This exercise movement for a bigger butt probably doesn’t come to you as a surprise. Squats are a great way to build up your booty but they need to be done properly in order for you to reap the benefits.

Start by slowly dropping into your squat as if you’re taking a seat on a chair.

Keep your back as straight as possible, with your hips and thighs at a 90 degree angle.

Engage your glutes.

Slowly come back up, squeezing your glutes.

Stay controlled from start to finish to maximize results.

Start with basic squats; add body weights when you’re ready, then upgrade to kettle bell squats when you really want to feel a burn.

Squats are also a great way to burn fat quicker!

3. Hip Extensions

As easy workout that’ll channel your inner Kim Kardashian is the hip extensions. This workout can be done right in your home with absolutely no equipment at all. When you’re ready to upgrade, you can add on ankle weights to get more of a burn and bigger booty.

Start on your hands and knees.

Keep your back straight.

Raise one leg with your knee bent a 90 degree angle.

(Pretend you’re carrying a tray of food on your foot and can’t drop it)

Feel the squeeze in your glutes for 10 seconds.

Lower your leg.

Repeat with other leg.

The key is to keep your body and booty muscles engaged the entire time, and push that leg up. Really feel the burn.

4. Glute Bridge

best workouts for a bigger butt, glutes, movements, exercise, brazil butt lift

Yet another incredible easy workout that has landed itself on this list of the best workouts for a bigger but is the glute bridge. You don’t need any equipment at all and can do this movement while catching up on your favorite television shows.

Lay on your back with your knees bent and feet flat.

Squeeze your butt, lifting it off the ground and until your body forms a straight line.

Keep your feet flat and shoulders planted on the ground.

Lift, squeeze, and release.

When you’re ready to turn up the heat, place a dumbbell on your pelvis and lift. The added resistance is sure to make that booty grow – and burn.

5. Stepping Up

best workouts for a bigger butt, glutes, movements, exercise, brazil butt lift

No, I’m not talking about the movie. Although, it is a good one. Instead, one of the best workouts for a bigger butt is simply stepping up. If you have a workout stepper, pull it out. If not, head on over to your stairs and start taking steps.

Step up to a higher level.

Step down.

Repeat.

It’s that simple, but make sure you’re feeling the burn in order to maximize your results.

If you’ve been looking at your backside in the mirror and it had you feel flat, weighed down – or anything opposite to plump, you need to put these best workouts for a bigger butt into action.

shakeology.png

Like most things in life, there are many common misconceptions associated with the Shakeology shakes from Beachbody. Some people believe they’re just like any other shake, whereas others don’t think it will do as it says. As an avid Shakeology drinker, I wanted to take the time to address – and debunk some of the most common Shakeology myths.

fitness shake, protein shake, Shakeology, Beachbody, fitness drink,

Myth #1:

It’s not a fitness shake for all lifestyles

This Shakeology myth couldn’t be any more untrue. Shakeology has several different versions to ensure a nutrient dense shake for everyone – regardless of their lifestyle. Even if you’re vegan, there’s a Vegan Shakeology version. You just have to look at the different types of Shakeology available to find the one that suits your needs the most.

Myth #2:

It’s just a protein shake

With so many protein shakes lining the shelves of every health and fitness store out there, it can be hard to narrow in on the ones that are the best. And let me tell you, the best ones aren’t just protein shakes.

Shakeology is a fitness shake. What this means is that it’s a nutrient-dense drink that contains superfoods to give you the whole food nutrition you need to thrive throughout the day – and throughout your workouts. So, you get all of your protein requirements as well as your nutrient requirements which allows you to maximize your results.

Myth #3:

Protein Shakes are just fillers and extracts

While it’s true that some protein shakes out there could very well just be fillers and extracts, the same can’t be said about Beachbody’s Shakeology. We get into this a bit more in the next myth debunk, but Shakeology is formulated to give you the higher amount of nutrition possible without all the junk. It’s a fitness shake full of everything you actually need.

Myth #4:

All you need for ultimate health and fitness is carbs, fats, and proteins

As disease and illness continue to be on the rise as a result of all the chemicals and toxins found in foods, it’s important to take a natural approach to your diet and fitness shakes. While you do need carbs, fats, and proteins, not all fitness drinks are created equally. With Shakeology, you get everything you need with no added colors, soy, artificial stimulants, flavors or sweeteners. So, it’s not just a fitness drink but rather, a health shake.

Myth #5:

Shakeology is for weight loss and nothing more

If Shakeology was only a protein shake, this myth might be true. However, since it’s a health and fitness drink, it’s for everyone regardless of their health and fitness goals. As long as you want to maximize your results by infusing your body with the right nutrients it needs to develop muscle, heal and repair your body.

Shakeology can certainly be used for weight loss as it’s a healthy meal replacement that will stop cravings and make you feel full for longer, that’s not it’s only purpose.

If you’re ready to reach your ultimate potential and health and fitness, you have to try a Shakeology fitness shake. Explore the different kinds of Shakeology to find one that suits your needs and health and fitness goals.

Finding motivation to workout is often the biggest struggle. Once you get going and make it a habit,  completing your online workout program will come to you like second nature. However, it’s getting to that point that is often the hardest. Since you are probably sitting down right now, tempted to turn on Netflix, you might as well watch movies that’ll get you motivated to work out. Obviously, we’re big fans of Fighter but there are many more hidden gems for you to enjoy.

The secret is to watch movies that’ll get you motivated to workout early enough that you have time to actually get up and do just that instead of passing out with a bowl of popcorn.

Million Dollar Baby

movies that’ll get you motivated to workout, online workout program,

If you’re looking for a movie that’ll light a fire (and fight) under your ass, this is it. Million Dollar Baby is about this badass woman who’s trying to break into the boxing industry, which is prominently over saturated with men. This movie is also great for women who feel like it’s hard to get into the fitness industry for the same reasons.

Rocky

movies that’ll get you motivated to workout, online workout program,

Oh, you just can’t go wrong with this classic. After watching this movie, you’ll want to start the Core De Force program immediately. Your body can be your biggest weakness or your strongest defence mechanism. You choose.

Remember the Titans

movies that’ll get you motivated to workout, online workout program,

For the football fans out there, this movie will you to motivated to workout in no time. You just can’t go wrong with Denzel Washington; his voice is the definition of motivational speeches. The passion for the sport found throughout the plot will spark some inspiration inside of you. It’s up to you to do something with it.

Super Size Me

movies that’ll get you motivated to workout, online workout program,

If you’ve recently eaten McDonalds, feel totally addicted to fast food, or simply can’t get on the right food path, watch Super-Size Me. While it isn’t a movie about being active, the fast food facts will make you want to change to a clean, healthy diet. This movie will likely gross you out with everything you don’t want to know about your Big Mac Meal.

I am Legend

movies that'll get you motivated to workout, online workout program,

Yes, yes you are. As the credits roll, you’ll feel something burning inside of you. The movie is based on a man dedicated to his training. Plus, it’s just a really freaking awesome flick.

G.I. Jane

movies that’ll get you motivated to workout, online workout program, movies that'll get you motivated to workout

An oldie but a goodie; G.I. Jane is yet another movie of a woman trying to break into a predominantly male industry. She trains her arse off to become the navy seal she’s always wanted to be, and you can do the same. Feel 22 minutes of what Demi Moore goes through in this movie with the 22 Minute Hard Corps Base workout program.  It’s short but it’ll kick your arse.

So, give yourself a day to be lazy – just one, and watch these movies that’ll get you motivated to work out. Then, choose the online fitness program that appeals to you and commit to it. Netflix isn’t going anywhere, and it’ll be even more satisfying to watch post workout.

The term ‘diet’ has a bad connotation as it is. After all, it’s a word associated with all kinds of unrealistic meal plans that promise just as unrealistic results. But with so many of us being desperate to get in the best shape of our lives, these fad diets seem tempting. Here are some of the worst diets that have likely caught your attention but that should be avoided at all costs.

worst diets, fad diets, diet plan, Shakeology

Pomegranate Diet

There’s no denying that pomegranates have natural fat burning elements and are packed with antioxidants. They’re one of the best super fruits out there due to their high nutritional value. However, let’s get serious – you need to eat more than just pomegranates. By all means, add pomegranates into your meal plan but refrain from eating nothing else. That’s like us telling you to only drink our nutrient-dense Shakeology shakes from morning to night. The reality is they will certainly help you achieve your goals, but you need to have more than just that.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Would you drink three glasses of a honey, apple cider, and cayenne pepper concoction if you were told it’ll help you lose weight? Probably. Who wouldn’t? Well, that’s how this bad diet captivated people just like you but it is not one you should incorporate into your life.

The combination of these three ingredients come with a ton of acid and spice, making it awful for people who have IBS or acid reflux. Even if you don’t have any of those things, it’ll give you way more gas than it does health benefits.

Baby Food Diet

Listen up folks, baby food is called ‘baby food’ because it isn’t for adults. It’s for babies, for heaven’s sake! However, many
online fitness coaches have convinced their audience that this is the way to achieve optimal weight loss because these little bottles of food are essentially pureed fruits, vegetables, and meats.  But it’s absolutely nuts. This diet is also completely unsustainable. So, even if you do try it, you’ll gain all the weight back once you resume a normal diet plan.

Tapeworm Diet

We debated even putting this diet on the list because we didn’t want to risk informing people about it. However, we know our audience knows better than to eat a tapeworm so it can eat the food you consume. Yes, this is an actual diet that many people have died from. Not only can it be difficult to remove the tapeworm, we’re talking about ingested a parasite, which is just insane. Plus, this diet is not sustainable so even if you survive and get the tapeworm out, you’ll gain all the weight back.

Cabbage Soup Diet

With a word like cabbage being associated with the diet, many people think this option is a healthy one, but don’t be fooled. Just like the pomegranate diet, you can’t just eat one thing for the rest of your life. Your body will go into shock and you’ll feel awful while eating the cabbage soup diet. You’ll feel even worse once you see the results reverse when you go back to regular eating.
